Persian, American artist brought up and lived in New York all her life then decided to move to Dubai to further her education in completing her Master’s degree and to gain another world of cultural experience in arts. Yalda is an international artist who has had the opportunity of experiencing the artistic side of diverse cultures while living abroad and travelling along her exhibitions in several cities around the world.
With her own distinctive style of traditional yet modern techniques, she has always had her own creation of art which when one visualizes can instantly distinguish her work. Colours are used extremely intense with expressive lines which stream on her paintings among flowing rhythmic poetry that is a mixture of calligraphy and modern writing.
I find creating art profoundly meditative; it is a transformation of my emotions into something tangible. I tend to focus more on the emotional being than the figurative one. A combination of traditional symbols along with modern concepts, allocates me to expose my work in an evident manner
Yalda Jafari
Yalda’s work is driven by the need to be inventive, but also aesthetically gratifying and at the same time not very much caught up in function, which she feels is a way that conveys the curiosity of the viewers to her works. Her artistic creations are characterized in three different techniques and styles: Contemporary Traditional Symbolism with calligraphy and poetry, Modern Abstract Decorative art which is employed for exclusive furniture design and making of unique vintage-shabby chic pieces and the final technique is the Folk Illustrative art which brings out the more humorous fun side of the paintings and the child in all of us which she believes in an eternal existence in every adult; as well as illustrations which are used for children books.
In all her styles, she correlates the story within the painting to a calligraphy writing which expresses the theme of the art work in words that grows further into the mind and imagination of the artist and her creation of words into art, simultaneously giving the viewer a chance to see the connection between the flow of words and the symbols produced in the piece.
Yalda’s art studio is a play room of different pieces of art for display before they are entered into gallery exhibitions or private homes…vintage art decors, paintings, fabric art, children’s story books, accessories, murals and wall paintings. She has done several selective art and paintings for VIP’s within the base region as well as abroad, and has had her works displayed in well recognized galleries and locations globally.
With a Bachelor degree in Computer Graphics/Animation and a Master’s degree in International Business, Yalda has been creating and at the same time marketing her work in many different countries.
“Your daily routines of life appear greatly more beautiful when viewed artistically; I visualize the surroundings with details, colours and senses which are eventually implemented in my works”.
